As one of the mainland regions that maintains close cooperation with Hong Kong, Qianhai has been making unremitting efforts to deepen the cooperation and more and more Hong Kongers are finding themselves lured to the area.

Last year, the number of Hong Kong-funded enterprises registered in Qianhai increased by 156 percent year-on-year. To improve the integration of Shenzhen and Hong Kong markets, Qianhai has guaranteed 16 types of Hong Kong professionals, including tax experts, architects and tour guides, authority to work directly in the area after registration.

Cheung Kwok-wo, a tax accountant said: “As the core driving force of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Qianhai, with its preferential policies, perfect urban construction and living facilities, has brought more opportunities for young Hong Kong people to start businesses, and to work and live in the area.”

Through the monthly talent recruitment plan that Qianhai launched last year to attract Hong Kong and Macao talents, a total of 2,589 job opportunities have been provided exclusively to Hong Kong and Macao talents, and 177 young people have landed a job in Qianhai as of this March.

In addition, a large number of Hong Kong startups have been incubated in entrepreneurial parks such as the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub (E-hub). As of the first quarter of this year, 578 startup teams have been incubated in the E-hub; almost half of the teams are from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

All kinds of subsidies and welfare available for talents are a plus for young Hong Kongers who choose to settle in Qianhai. Thus far, Qianhai has allocated 150 million yuan in supportive funds to Hong Kong and Macao talents in nine batches.
