The Menghai-Qianwan River Bridge that connects Qianwan and Mawan opened for traffic Aug.26, marking the thorough completion of the Menghai Boulevard project.

Known as the No. 3 Landscape Bridge, it spans 155.5 meters with eight lanes in two directions. There are 5-meter-wide lanes for pedestrians and non-motor vehicles on each side of the bridge.

The bridge was jointly designed by famous French architect Marc Mimram and the Architects & Engineers Co. Ltd. of Southeast University. Resembling the shape of a wing, the bridge is also an artistic work that reflects the unique waterfront urban image of Qianhai.

The construction of the bridge adopted the BIM technique and utilized fully automatic welding technologies. The project was honored as “a demonstration construction site of safety production and construction civilization for housing and municipal works in Guangdong Province” and “a double merit construction site of Shenzhen.”

The thorough completion of the Menghai Boulevard makes it the third south-north trunk road connecting Qianhai’s Mawan, Qianwan and Guiwan areas. Citizens will have a faster and more convenient travel experience.
