Tax-related professionals from Hong Kong and Macao, together with tax authorities and associations from Shenzhen and Hong Kong, put forward a series of suggestions on promoting tax affairs cooperation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong at a seminar held in Qianhai on July 13.

In mid-January this year, the city’s tax authority rolled out a policy that allows tax-related professionals from Hong Kong and Macao to work in Qianhai after registration.

Chen Xinzhi, audit manager of Cheng & Cheng Limited, a Hong Kong-based accounting firm, said that the policy has brought huge convenience for Hong Kong professionals as more and more Hong Kong enterprises start to expand their businesses on the Chinese mainland.

Zhang Yong, director of the Qianhai authority, said facilitating Hong Kong and Macao professionals’ practice on the mainland is not only a concrete move for Qianhai, but also conducive to the development of the service industry in the area.

Zhang also said Qianhai will stick to the mission of deepening the cooperation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong by providing better services for the Hong Kong and Macao tax-related professionals and promoting the mutual recognition and convergence of rules between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.

According to the Shenzhen Tax Service of the State Taxation Administration, a total of 62 Hong Kong and Macao tax professionals and two joint-venture tax agencies have completed registration so far.
