Qianhai starts to operate new centralized cooling station

The No. 5 cooling station located in Qianhai started to operate recently, bringing cool air to its surrounding facilities.

The successful delivery of the project also indicates that all three areas in Qianhai, including Guiwan, Qianwan and Mawan, have been covered by the regional centralized cooling system.

Located in the basement of a public space in Qianwan, the No. 5 cooling station is the largest centralized cooling station in Asia so far. Shenzhen Qianhai Energy Technology Development Co. Ltd. is responsible for the investment and construction of the station.

The cooling station has a production capacity of 38,400 refrigeration tons (RT), an ice storage capacity of 153,800 RTh (refrigeration ton-hour) and a peak cooling capacity of 60,500 RT. It can provide cooling service covering a construction area of around 2.75 million square meters.

The No. 5 cooling station is the central station of Qianhai’s centralized cooling system and also the first cooling station in the Qianwan area.

The No. 5 cooling station features regional centralized cooling intelligent operation and management platform integrating monitoring, display and science popularization.

In the future, all of Qianhai’s cooling stations will be connected to the No. 5 cooling station, where station operators will be able to remotely control other cooling stations to greatly improve energy efficiency in the area.
