GJS Robot, a startup specializing in consumer somatosensory combat robots in Qianhai, has its products sold in eight countries across the globe five years after establishment.

Zhao Junjian, founder and CEO of GJS Robot, said his connection with Qianhai started after an entrepreneurship competition, after which he decided to base his startup at the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub (E-hub).

The favorable entrepreneurial and business environment of Qianhai has been important to GJS’s rapid development, he said, adding that GJS has now 80 employees, with most of its manpower being engaged in technology R&D. GJS had only three employees at the time of its establishment.

Zhao attributed the fast expansion of GJS’s products in overseas markets to his Hong Kong business partner he met in Qianhai.

He said his Hong Kong partner is among the many young Hong Kongers with expertise in overseas marketing in Qianhai, an important platform for Shenzhen-Hong Kong cooperation.

Zhao’s GJS has reported an annual growth rate of about 300 percent for the past three consecutive years. He said he has confidence in his company becoming a tech giant with competitiveness in the global market.

Last year, GJS Robot won several prizes, including the 2019 TG Bus Best Combat Robot, the 2019 Top 100 New Economy Enterprise of the GBA and the 2019 Top 10 Innovation Companies.
