22 Macao, Taiwan students speak highly of Qianhai internship

Overseas students spoke highly of a four-week internship in Qianhai that ended recently, saying that the experience has prepared them for future career development.

The 22 students, 19 from Macao and three from Taiwan, spent the past four weeks working in 12 enterprises in Qianhai.

“During the internship, I have learned a lot of in practical business logic, innovative product design ideas and a prudent working attitude, which are important to my future entrepreneurial plan,” said Chen Yongyi, an intern from Macao who is studying at the Catholic University of Portugal

Chen has interned at Qianhai Inno-tech Investment Holdings Co. Ltd. as an assistant at the company’s industrial operation platform. She was involved in the planning, execution and copywriting of the startup incubation service, a roadshow event and entrepreneurship competitions organized by the company.

Organized by the Qianhai Cooperation Zone Authority and the Qianhai International Talent Service Center, the internship program has provided Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students studying in universities across the globe with about 3,500 internship positions in Qianhai-based enterprises, including Tencent, Ernst & Young and E.Sun Bank since 2014.

A service group has also been set up to follow up on the interns in terms of their work and life in the free trade area.

During the internship program, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Construction Office in Shenzhen, the Taiwan Affairs Office of Shenzhen Municipal Government and the Qianhai Authority have also organized other activities for the students, including touring industry-leading enterprises, as well as some local cultural and historical sites in Shenzhen. Leisure events such as photography training and basketball games were also held during the program.
