The Qianhai International Talent Service Center was officially put into operation Aug. 27, providing 243 kinds of services to people from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and foreign countries.

Located in Room A211 of the Electronic One-stop Service Center of Qianhai, the center has been jointly set up by the Qianhai Cooperation Zone Authority, the Shenzhen Municipal Science and Technology Innovation Commission, the Shenzhen Municiple Public Security Bureau, and Shenzhen Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Administration.

Overseas people can apply for and renew a work permit in China at the center. In addition, people from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan can also report loss of their travel permits to the Chinese mainland authorities and apply for a new one. Applications for subsidies for newly introduced talents, high-end professionals, and applications for a letter of recommendation for permanent residence of foreign nationals can also be handled at the center.

A pilot zone for national talent management and reform and a demonstration zone of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao talent cooperation, Qianhai has aimed to create a talent-friendly environment.

In September 2018, Qianhai issued Guangdong’s first Chinese permanent residence permit for a foreign national.

The Qianhai authority has also worked with the city’s public security bureau to build a credit-based business visa application system for businesspeople intending to go to Hong Kong.

So far, more than 4,000 people in over 1,300 enterprises have benefited from the policy.
