Roof of intl. conference center completes installation

The roof that features cambered curtain of Qianhai International Conference Center was installed earlier this month, paving the way for interior construction of the center.

The roof covers an area of 8,407 square meters, which is larger than a football field. It consists of 676 unit-type panels, and the average weight of each panel is 900 kilograms.

The roof’s installation was complex labor-intensive. Sixty-nine types of standard rectangular plates and 122 types of convergent plates were used, and glass panels of 319 different sizes were adopted.

The roof’s installation only took 37 days.The construction of the center will enter the indoor fine decoration and equipment installation phase.

The conference center will contain a 1,840-square-meter conference room that can accommodate up to 1,422 people on the first floor and a multi-functional hall with a capacity of 2,000 people on the second floor.Facilities such as an underground garage and a banquet room will also be available at the center.
