All Qianhai enterprises expected to move in free trade zone by 2018

By the end of this year, the construction of 113 buildings will be completed in Qianhai Shekou Pilot Free Trade Zone and all companies are expected to settle in the zone in two years

Since last July, the construction of a large-scale urban project in the zone has started, which aims to build the rail transit, roads, underground spaces and city landscapes. By the end of May, there have been as many as 88 projects in process, 47 of which are infrastructural projects and 41 of which are housing projects. The fixed investment totaled 9 billion yuan in the first four months, up 69% from of last year, and the investment reached 12.5 billion yuan in May.

By now, seven construction projects have accomplished and put to use with a total floorage of 889,000 square meters, of which a space of 144,000 square meters is for office use. Including the newly capped Qianhai Law Building, seven projects have finished capping so far, covering a total construction area of 575,000 square meters, and a floorage of 266,000 square meters is for office use.

Given the land resources in short supply, Qianhai’s underground space is to be fully developed. According to the planning, subterranean parking and commercial spaces will occupy 4 million and 1.3 million square meters respectively, while a one-million-square-meter area is designated for civil infrastructures.
