On June 21, the third Qianhai Planning and Architecture Week kicked off in Qianhai, which aimed at gathering constructive suggestions to Qianhai’s planning and construction.
Tianfu, director of Qianhai & Shekou FTA Authority, made a speech about the development of Qianhai and his expectations on the third plenary session of Qianhai Planning and Construction Consulting Committee. The committee members have given lots of ideas about Qianhai. In the afternoon, a forum was held for architects. At the same day, the contemporary architecture and art exhibition was also launched.
Qianhai has made innovations on planning method, concept and demonstration.
As for the planning method, the authority released the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone comprehensive planning and formed compiling system of series planning and single planning. About the concept, the authority also focused on the landscape urbanism.It also established units structure with multi -center. The Guiwan, Qianwan and Mawan areas were once isolated from each other but now they have been connected to make Qianhai a water town. The planning was designed to shorten the distance among the workplaces, living spaces and entertainment places within 15-minutes’ reach. Besides, the authority advocates to build 10 galleries.
Wang Mingxain, an art researcher at China National Academy of Painting, proposed that Qianhai should build some experimental buildings to better integrate with the nature.Thus, the city will be more vivifying.
Rocco Yim Sen-kee, the professor from the faculty of architecture of Hong Kong University said that the high-efficiency of construction can not only make our life more convenient, but also save lots of resources. He hoped that Qianhai can make full use of the coastal resources and bring comfort and conveniences to residents.
Japanese architect Arata Isozaki and the dean of China Academy of Urban Planning and Design, Yang Baojun both supported Qianhai to make innovations.
