More jobs offered for HK and Macao youth in Qianhai

As the frontier of Shenzhen-Hong Kong cooperation, Qianhai is the first stop for many young Hong Kong people who intend to work on the mainland. In the first half of this year, the number of new jobs provided to young people from Hong Kong and Macao tripled year on year, as Qianhai’s recruitment plan for Hong Kong and Macao young people has continued to be improved.

Chen Peizi, a young university graduate with an excellent professional performance background who is from Hong Kong, joined the Chinese Businessmen Lin Lili (Qianhai) Associates law firm in May this year. She has participated in the handling of two Shenzhen-Hong Kong cross-border cases.

The law firm has cooperated with City University of Hong Kong and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University to provide Hong Kong graduates with more internships in Qianhai.

Wong, who also came to Qianhai from Hong Kong after his graduation, is now working at the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce, Qianhai. According to Wong, the Hong Kong community in Qianhai and considerate and favorable policies launched by Qianhai for Hong Kong residents has given him a “sense of belonging.”

Statistics shown that in the first half year of 2022, a total of 170 companies based in Qianhai have offered 2,479 vacancies, up 331% year on year. The companies have received a total of 3,910 resumés from young Hong Kong and Macao people, a year-on-year increase of 275%. A total of 112 have signed employment contracts with Qianhai-based companies including Tencent, JD, SF Express and WeBank.
