To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to the motherland, events were held in Shenzhen and Hong Kong on June 15, embodying the smooth integration of the mainland and the SAR.

The event in Shenzhen was co-hosted by the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Hong Kong’s Shenzhen liaison department, the Qianhai Administration Bureau and the Shenzhen Women’s Federation at the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub.

Young people from Hong Kong and the mainland were invited to perform at the plaza of the hub, and a total of 25 female entrepreneurs exhibited their companies’ products during the event.

Dong Chengcheng, one of the founders of a Hong Kong food company mainly selling Hong Kong pastry, brought different kinds of mooncakes to the event. “As the anniversary is approaching, we brought some mooncakes, which represent reunion in the Chinese culture, to share the happiness with everyone here, “ Dong said. “Our company aims to create more dim sum based on the Greater Bay Area’s traditional pastry and introduce these dim sum bearing the traditional Chinese culture to the world,” She said.

Another Hong Kong young entrepreneur surnamed Yeh promoted camping-related products during the event. “Qianhai helps me a lot with my business. I brought some of the camping equipment produced by my company to present here and I hope that my company can help promote the new (camping) tourism trends here.”

At the end of the event, several Hong Kong young people sang classic Cantonese songs at the plaza. “We all did our best to prepare and organize this event and hope we were able to show the public Hong Kong people’s hospitality and cohesion.”

The hub established a women innovation and entrepreneur base in 2019. As of today, a total of 41 start-ups whose team members are all female have been incubated at the base, of which 20 companies consist of women members from Hong Kong, Macao or Taiwan.
