Before the new policy was launched, tour guides from Hong Kong and Macao were required to take a vocational qualification examination and obtain a Tourist Guide Qualification Certificate to qualify for working in the mainland tourism industry.

Now, they only need to attend an online or offline pre-job training and register with relevant authorities to get the job qualification. The whole registration process can be completed online, and the materials can be submitted by courier.

After registration, the Hong Kong and Macao tourist guides will be appointed by travel agencies in Qianhai to provide tourists with guides, explanations and related travel services. The Qianhai Authority will also publicize their honors and awards, as well as misconducts, which can be queried in the credit system of Qianhai and Shenzhen by tourism departments and industrial associations of Hong Kong and Macao.

So far, Hong Kong and Macao professionals in 16 sectors can directly work in Qianhai after registration, including architects, planners, tax accountants and tour guides.

The Qianhai Authority is also planning to lower the working threshold for more Hong Kong and Macao professional such as financial practitioners to realize the free flow of talents in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and create a world-class business environment in Qianhai.
