- 54 Qianhai carpenters compete at skill contest final

A total of 54 carpenters from the Qianhai Construction and Investment Holdings Group and from some projects under construction in Qianhai participated in the final competition of the carpenter skills contest held at the construction site of Qianhai Taikang International Hospital on Nov. 29.
The contest consisted of two parts, a theoretical knowledge examination and a practical operation session. The operation part included blanking, formworking and form removal. A panel of professional judges scored the finalists on 10 aspects and selected winners.
The contest was organized by the Shenzhen Federation of Trade Unions and the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau of Shenzhen, and was hosted by the Authority of the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone. The contest’s aims are to stimulate workers’ interest in learning and a sense of competition, identify a group of highly skilled talents in the construction industry, and provide high-quality skilled workers for Qianhai to build a new international urban center.
