THE Authority of Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone released a package of 100 one-stop services for international talents at the Eighth Shenzhen-Hong Kong (Qianhai) Talent Cooperation Annual Conference on Nov. 2.

Interim measures for the management of the special funds for talent development in Qianhai were also released at the conference.

The service package was tailor made for six types of talents: strategic scientists, leading technologists, young technologists, outstanding engineers, Hong Kong youths and overseas talents. The services will cover the talents’ every aspect of work and life in Qianhai.

Strategic scientists will receive Qianhai’s funding support if they set up research and development centers and industrial innovation centers in the area. They will also enjoy high-end quality apartments free of charge for certain periods, have their children and spouses enrolled in quality schools citywide and recommended to Qianhai enterprises for employment, respectively, and obtain housing and car purchase quotas, among others.

Overseas talents can get job recommendations at Qianhai-based enterprises, enjoy fast and convenient application services for temporary and permanent work and residence permits and business visas for traveling to Hong Kong and Macao, and receive legal risk analysis and consulting services for coming to Qianhai for business and employment.

According to Huang Xiaopeng, executive vice director of the Qianhai authority, Qianhai has made remarkable achievements in talent attraction. So far, more than 6,000 overseas talents and 577 senior talents have come to Qianhai for career development.

“Qianhai is striving to construct four platforms of internship and practice, innovation and entrepreneurship, connection and communication, and education and research for Hong Kong and Macao youths, as well as launching other talent policy packages to attract top overseas technologists,” Huang said.

The conference was part of the Fifth Shenzhen Talent Day series event and Qianhai’s blockbuster effort to implement its new development plan and construct the Qianhai International Talent Port, which will open for service in January next year.
