Intl. organizations, arbitration agencies to settle in Qianhai

A number of well-known international organizations and arbitration agencies have expressed their willingness to set up businesses in Qianhai through cooperation with the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA) in Guiwan area.

The organizations and agencies that expressed their interest to set up branches in the SCIA Tower include the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), the International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the Singapore International Mediation Center (SIMC), and the International Court of Arbitration of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), among others.

The cooperation is conducive for Shenzhen to utilize the international experience and practice to build the city into a center of international disputes resolution in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and improve the city’s international legal services and dispute resolution capability.

In addition, SCIA has also joined hands with the Shenzhen Stock Exchange to construct the China (Shenzhen) Securities Arbitration Center. It also established the China (Shenzhen) Intellectual Property Arbitration Center and a maritime arbitration center to serve high-tech companies and the city’s effort of constructing a global ocean city, respectively.
