Customs provides fast clearance during shopping carnival

Shenzhen Customs has taken a raft of measures tailored to each kind of cross-border e-commerce enterprises to speed up the customs clearance process in response to a surge in the number of cross-border commodities during the annual June 18 online shopping carnival in China.

Shekou Customs started testing its servers to embrace the surge of cross-border transactions and set up a taskforce to help enterprises deal with problems arising during customs clearance.

With targeted measures of Shekou Customs, corss-border e-commerce enterprises in the Qianhai Comprehensive Bonded Zone managed to process their import and export orders in a timely manner.

Official statistics showed that a total of 30.4 million pieces of cross-border parcels have been handled at the Shenzhen Cross-border E-commerce Logistics Supervision Center in the first three weeks of June, a year-on-year growth of 18 percent.

The center is a customs clearance service provider in the Shenzhen Qianhai Comprehensive Bonded Zone.

According to Xia Lin, general manager of the center, the Shekou Customs had organized a training session for the employees of the center on the customs clearance procedures ahead of the shopping carnival.

Shenzhen Post Office Customs also made work arrangements in accordance with the estimated business volume of the cross-border e-commerce companies under its jurisdiction. Standardized declaration training and customized customs clearance services were also offered to ensure customs clearance efficiency.
