Qianhai court hands out $15.6m in compensation funds

The Qianhai court recently distributed more than 100 million yuan (US$15.6 million) in compensation funds to 14 litigants, as the court has sped up the payment process of outstanding compensation funds.

Official figures show that the court has handed out 478 million yuan in 838 payments of compensation funds from March 1 to June 10, among which 60.55 million yuan were due more than a year ago, accounting for 70 percent of the total outstanding funds.

The court has assigned personnel to manage and supervise the distribution of the outstanding compensation funds. The designated personnel have been responsible for coordinating with the court’s finance department and communicating with the relevant banks to streamline the payment process.

In addition, the court has formulated some management rules and regulations for compensation funds to make sure the funds are handed out in a timely manner.
