Construction on Qianhai-Futian tunnel to complete in July

An underground tunnel linking Qianhai and Futian Distrcit will be completed in July this year, source from the city's transportation bureau.

The tunnel is part of the 5.4-kilometer Guimiao Road reconstruction project, which spans over the Yueliangwan Boulevard connecting the Linhai Boulevard in the west and the Binhai Boulevard in the east.

After the whole reconstruction project is completed, motorists in Qianhai can drive to Futian without having to wait for any traffic light and vice versa, saving half of the travel time needed.

In addition, four footbridges will be built above Guimiao Road to provide pedestrians with convenience. Among them, the K4 Footbridge near the intersection of Guimiao Road and Nanhai Boulevard has been completed and will be put into service soon.
