Chan Yun-fu and Hui Ho are among the many Hong Kong entrepreneurs who have started business in Qianhai as they are confident in the huge market potential of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Chan said his company, Qianhai Fusi Media (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd., provides brand advertising services to its customers. “We choose to develop in Shenzhen beacuse we can better access to the larger market of the mainland. We believed that we can achieve success as long as one in a thousand or one in ten thousand people love our design.”

Chan had worked in Beijing and Shanghai for a few years before working for a Belt and Road Initiative project in the Republic of Georgia as the project’s culture design director.

Another aspect that attracted Chan to establish his company in Shenzhen\\\'s Qianhai area is that the Qianhai authority has rolled out over 100 favorable policies for startups from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and has built a number of Shenzhen-Hong Kong cooperation platforms, including the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub, the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Innovation Center and the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Fund Town. Chan said the favorable policies and incubation platforms have helped Hong Kong entrepreneurs cut entrepreneurial costs.

Hui was also attracted to Qianhai to set up a branch company of his Hong Kong-based LaSense Technology Co. Ltd. He said the huge demand of mainland customers for his company’s service had already encouraged him to focus on the mainland market, and the talent and housing subsidies for Hong Kong people addressed his concerns.

Currently, a high-precision sensor that can monitor the changes in the concentration of pollutants and harmful gases in real time developed by Hui’s company has been tested in some large coal power plants in Foshan and Guangzhou. The product is expected to be adopted by many other large power plants in China after it passes all the required tests.
