Hong Kong entrepreneurs based in Qianhai praised the report made by the seventh Shenzhen Municipal Congress of the Communist Party of China on April 27 and said they were excited to know that the the local authority will further promote the integration of Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao markets and accelerate the construction on major cooperative platforms between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

J. P. Ma Hung-ming, president of Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce Qianhai said Shenzhen has created a global, innovative and competitive market environment over the past 41 years of reform and opening up.

“The close geographical ties between Shenzhen and Hong Kong faciliates the two cities to enhance cooperation and exchanges in technology, finance and culture. The establishment and opening up of Qianhai further enhance cooperation between the two cities and reinforce Shenzhen’s status as the core engine of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). The congress report makes us Hong Kong entrepreneurs more convinced about the bright future of the GBA and we are willing to join such a historical process,” Ma said.

Peggy Yip, vice president of Ho & Partners Architects Engineers & Development Consultants Ltd., helped move the company to Qianhai in 2019. She said the report has strengthened her confidence in expanding the company’s business to the whole GBA. “I believe Qianhai will become the center of the GBA and I am looking forward to participating in Qianhai’s construction.”

“Many Hong Kong youngsters I know have expressed their interest in the development of GBA after they read the congress report,” said Stephen See, vice president of Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce Qianhai.

“My Hong Kong designer friend said the congress mentioned the content of building bi-city economy between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, which inspired him to start a business in Guangdong. He believes that the resources between Shenzhen and Hong Kong will integrate better in the near future,” See said.
