Qianhai has become a popular place for many young Hong Kong entrepreneurs to start their businesses at a number of innovation and entrepreneurship platforms with all kinds of preferential policies to support their development in the free trade area.

The Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Hub (E-hub) is one of the major incubators in Qianhai that have hatched many startup teams from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan with its integrated services, investment and financing services, technology service, market promotion service and entrepreneurship mentor service.

Startups, growing enterprises, incubation operators and R&D institutions are the main clients of the E-hub. The startups at the E-hub mainly engage in smart hardware, AI and chip design, mobile internet, and culture and creation industries.

In addition, qualified enterprises and individuals can also enjoy a number of favorable policies.

Enterprises engaging in certain industries and high-end overseas talents are entitled to the preferential corporate and individual tax rate of 15 percent. A special fund of up to 10 million yuan will be given to enterprises according to their contribution to Qianhai’s economic development. Talents working in the core industries of Qianhai are eligible for low-rent talent housing;

Innovation and entrepreneurship carriers such as laboratories, technology centers, public service platforms, startup incubators, accelerators, and science and technology industrial parks, can receive up to 10 million yuan if they settle in Qianhai. They will also receive an operation subsidy up to 5 million yuan, an office rent subsidy up to 5 million yuan and a property fee subsidy up to 500,000 yuan annually in the following three years;

The Qianhai authority will offer a subsidy of up to 85 million yuan to accredited headquarters enterprises in the free trade area on the condition that the enterprises meet the requirements stipulated in the Detailed Rules for the Accreditation of Headquarters Enterprise and Implementation of Special Funds for Industrial Support to Headquarters Enterprise in Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Modern Service Industry Cooperation Zone.
