The Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Professional Service Cluster was initiated at the Qianhai Shimao Tower in Mawan yesterday morning. The cluster will serve as an important platform to further boost Shenzhen-Hong Kong cooperation.

The cluster provides 40,000 square meters of office space for professional service enterprises, innovation institutions and related industry associations from Hong Kong and Macao.

Currently, 13 professional service institutions have moved into the cluster, four of which are from Hong Kong and Macao. Another 38 institutions, including 18 from Hong Kong and Macao, have expressed their willingness to move into the cluster.

KPMG, one of the Big Four accounting firms, inaugurated its GBA (Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area) smart innovation space in the Qianhai Shimao Tower last month.

Sun Lecheng, partner of the KPMG smart innovation space, said that Qianhai’s talent and innovation-oriented policies are the main reason for them to open the space in Qianhai.

“The smart innovation space serves as an R&D and delivery center of KPMG in China, which needs a large number of talents. Qianhai has released all kinds of talent-oriented policies to attract talents from home and abroad, which is quite attractive for us. Our space will provide better digital services for our clients in the Greater Bay Area,” Sun said.

The cluster will also serve as a professional service innovation platform, a practice and entrepreneurship platform for professionals, and a government service platform for foreign-invested institutions.

The professional service industry has been one of the pillar industries in Qianhai. In 2020, the investment from Hong Kong and Macao in the professional service industry accounted for 30.52 percent among all the industries in Qianhai. As of February, 19,054 professional service industry enterprises have been registered in Qianhai, including 9,356 cultural and creative service enterprises and 7,478 consulting service enterprises.
