A trademark business application service window of the National Intellectual Property Administration was put into operation in Qianhai this morning, providing services for trademark registration applications, and trademark modification, transfer, renewal and consultation.

Located on the second floor of the Qianhai Electronic One-stop Service Center, it is the second service window that the National Intellectual Property Administration has opened in Shenzhen, showcasing the administration’s increasing emphasis on Shenzhen's intellectual property work.

OPPO, a Shenzhen-based leading smart device manufacturer in China, became the first enterprise to receive the receipt of a trademark application document in Qianhai.

Zhou Zhong, OPPO’s senior legal manager said that the launching of the trademark application service in Qianhai saves the company costs to a large extent. “After submitting the trademark application in Qianhai, we can get the trademark design documents as soon as possible, which is conducive for the company’s business development,” Zhong said.

Official statistics show that during the “13th Five-Year Plan” period (2016-2020), Shenzhen had 160,000 invention patents, accounting for about 7.23 percent of the country's total. In Shenzhen, 119.1 out of 10,000 people own invention patents. The number is about eight times the national average.
