QH-based enterprises recruit talent at university

An on-campus job fair was held at Jinan University (JNU) in Guangzhou on Dec. 11 and 12, offering 1,490 openings in nearly 100 Qianhai-based enterprises.

Well-known Qianhai-headquartered enterprises, such as China Merchants Securities, SF Express, Qianhai Life Insurance and E. Sun Bank, received more than 800 resumes for positions such as software engineers, human resources and product managers at the fair, organized by the Qianhai authority under a strategic cooperation agreement signed with JNU on Nov. 28.

The agreement has been aimed to promote broader and deeper exchanges among young people in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.

JNU is one of the higher education institutions in China known for it’s large number of overseas students. A Hong Kong student surnamed Hui in the Finance Department of JNU was among the hundreds of students attending the job fair. He said that he was attracted by the development prospect of the finance industry and the favorable policies for young people from Hong Kong and Macao in Qianhai. He said he hoped to find an ideal job in Qianhai.

The Qianhai authority has organized several job fairs for young professionals from Hong Kong and Macao this year. In November, an online recruiting activity for Hong Kong university students was held, which attracted about 60,000 attendees.
