Qianhai-based enterprises are advised to set up an emergency management mechanism to respond to potential risks they might face when expanding overseas, according to a lecture on the prevention and control of overseas risks Nov. 27 in Qianhai.

The lecture, attracting more than 11,000 audience members, was given by Gao Wenjie, a senior lawyer and partner with Tianyuan Law Firm.

Gao said enterprises have faced a growing number of nontraditional risks this year arising from the COVID-19 pandemic when tapping the international market. He highlighted the importance of introducing risk control and prevention measures for enterprises engaging in cross-border business activities through the analysis of several cases.

The lecture was one of a series of nonprofit events themed on “Embrace the World with Qianhai” that aims at enhancing local enterprises’ ability to deal with risks and challenges faced when investing overseas. The events have also been designed to serve as a platform for exchanges and collaboration between Qianhai and other members of the national free trade innovation alliance.

The audience members were also taught about the Silk Road (Xi’an) Qianhai Park at the lecture. The park is a regional collaborative development project between Xi’an High-tech Industries Development Zone in Xi’an, capital of Shaanxi Province, and Qianhai. The Silk Road (Xi’an) Qianhai Park integrates the high-tech advantages of Xi’an with Qianhai’s strength in financial innovation and the modern service industry.
