Construction completed on main arch of No.3 Landscape Bridge

Construction on the main arch of the Menghai Qianwan River Bridge, also known as the No. 3 Landscape Bridge, was recently completed, paving the way for the bridge to open to traffic.

Located at the intersection of Menghai Boulevard and Qianwan River water corridor, the bridge is an important link between Qianhai’s Mawan and Qianwan areas.

Traffic between the Qianwan and Mawan areas will be more convenient when construction of the bridge is completed, which is slated for next year.

Spanning 155.5 meters, the 46.5-meter-wide bridge has eight lanes in two directions with a 5-meter-wide sidewalk on each side for slow traffic. The main arch is 23.38 meters high and consists of 13 large sections. The maximum weight of a single section is 44.9 tons, according to Qianhai Investment Holding Co. Ltd., constructor of the bridge.

So far, the project has won several honors such as a “demonstration site of production safety” from the housing and construction bureau of Nanshan District and a “demonstration site of safe production and civil construction” from the Construction Industry Safety Association of Guangdong Province.
