Seminar held on cross-border investment, taxation

A seminar on cross-border investment, trade and taxation in Qianhai on Nov. 4 was well received by local entrepreneurs and business people.

Both Xiong Xiaonian, a partner of the tax and business consulting service of PwC China, and Xiang Nan, a partner of the transfer pricing service of PwC China, spoke at the seminar, sharing with the audience their expertise in related fields and offering suggestions on expanding business overseas.

At the seminar, which was also live-streamed, attracting more than 10,000 viewers, they identified the potential risks and challenges such as tax discrimination and disputes that enterprises may encounter when investing overseas.

The seminar was one of the nonprofit services offered to the enterprises under the jurisdiction of the national free trade and innovation alliance. Through the discussions on policies, laws and taxation issues involved in cross-border investment and trade, the seminar aimed to prepare enterprises for various risks and challenges they might face when expanding overseas to protect their cross-border investments.

The event was also a platform of exchange and collaborative development for the enterprises in Qianhai and their counterparts in the national free trade and innovation alliance.
