All social security-related services are now available at a designated service window at the Electronic One-stop Service Center for Qianhai-based enterprises and residents.

The service window, jointly set up by the city’s human resources and social security bureau and Qianhai Cooperation Zone Authority in July, has recently expanded the scope of services to offer convenience to the enterprises and residents in the free trade area, including those from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. Previously, only 54 social security-related services could be processed at the service window.

Currently, 34,800 Qianhai enterprises have joined the city’s social security program.

The move is one of the latest steps Qianhai took to create a world-class business environment while constructing the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Other moves Shenzhen has taken to attract high-end international talent include allowing people from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan to work on the Chinese mainland without the previously mandatory work permit.

Unemployed Hong Kong and Macao residents living in Shenzhen have also been covered by the city’s basic pension program like their mainland counterparts.
