Officials with the Qianhai authority said they will carry out further reform and pursue innovation as urged by President Xi Jinping at a grand gathering in Qianhai on Oct. 14.

Chen Weizhong, director of the Qianhai Tax Service, said he has been inspired by Xi’s speech on the reform and opening up.

“Qianhai Tax Service will make greater efforts to introduce more innovative tax services in a bid to build a modern tax supervision system, create a world-class business environment, and deepen cooperation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong,” Chen said.

First of its kind in the country’s free trade areas, Qianhai Notary Office has been one of the examples of Shenzhen’s pioneering reform and innovation pursuit. “We will remain committed to innovation in our work, offering quality and efficient notarization services,” said Fu Jianming, director of the notary office.

Wen Changzhi, president of the Qianhai Cooperation Zone People’s Court, also pledged to step up efforts to carry out reform and encourage innovation.

“The court will work out rules and mechanisms for the integration of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and introduce policies that are in line with the international trade rules to create a rule-of-law environment for the development of a quality market-oriented economy of Shenzhen,” Wen said.
