Shenzhen recorded 430 million export orders of cross-border goods in the first eight months of this year, following a series of facilitating measures Shenzhen Customs have introduced to boost international trade.

Shenzhen Customs in July piloted a new cross-border B2B export model in Shekou, which streamlines the process of registration, customs clearance and transit for exporters.

Shenzhen Jiuzhouli Cross-Border E-commerce Co. Ltd. is among the exporting enterprises that reported business growth after the introduction of the export model in Shekou.

Lu Qiang, manager of Jiuzhouli, said the piloted export model has significantly enhanced its delivery efficiency, which brings in more orders.

The global central warehouse service at the Qianhai Comprehensive Bonded Zone, which allows bonded and non-bonded goods to be stored in the same warehouse, is another innovative practice that has boosted the development of foreign trade, as a large number of enterprises engaging in the cross-border e-commerce business relocated to the bonded zone for lower operational costs and efficient customs clearance process.

Through the shipping routes opened by the customs, cross-border e-commerce commodities are shipped to overseas countries through a combined transportation method of sea and air, addressing the insufficient transportation capacity problem.

In addition, the MCC (multi-country consolidation) Qianhai model allows enterprises to directly transport cross-border e-commerce parcels from Qianhai to the Hong Kong International Airport for exporting. The 19 green-channel cargo air routes jointly developed by the Shenzhen Airport Group and the Shenzhen Customs at the Shenzhen airport is another option for enterprises looking to export products.

Customs has also coordinated with enterprises to consolidate and transport their commodities to Chongqing, where the commodities can be transported to 18 European countries such as the UK, Germany, and France in 18 days. The cost of freight is only one-fifth of that of air transportation, effectively reducing costs for cross-border e-commerce enterprises.
