- Foreign media delegation visits Qianhai

A 30-strong delegation of foreign journalists visited Qianhai yesterday morning on a tour that showcased the achievements Qianhai has made during the 10 years of development.
The journalists were briefed on the smart port construction and operation status of the Mawan port. Currently, a series of frontier technologies such as AI (artificial intelligence), 5G network and Beidou GPS have been applied for unmanned container handling and trailer dispatching.
With the aim of becoming the first smart port in the country, the construction of the Mawan Smart Port, with an investment of 4.37 billion yuan (US$631.46 million), is an important step for Shenzhen’s move to build a world-class marine city.
The delegation then visited Leigh & Orange (Shenzhen) Ltd. in Guiwan. The Hong Kong-headquartered architecture company has designed some major infrastructure such as the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Fund Town and the Shenzhen Tower H Qianhai Future Times.
Leigh & Orange aims to integrate into the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area through introducing Hong Kong architecture construction practices to the Chinese mainland.
At the Qianhai Exhibition Hall, the last stop of the Qianhai tour, the journalists learned about the breakthroughs that Qianhai has made in institutional innovation, modern service industry development, regional collaborative innovation and opening up, and urban construction.
