SZ is always my first pick to start business: HK entrepreneur

Hong Kong Entrepreneur Victor Hung who set up a company at the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub (E-hub) in Qianhai in 2015 said Shenzhen has always been his first choice to start a new business.

Hung first came to Shenzhen in 1997 for his entrepreneurship project and has spent the past 23 years in the city. He said the E-hub, and Qianhai as a whole, has been a cradle for young entrepreneurs from Hong Kong and Macao who want to embrace the opportunities brought by the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA). According to Hung, 80 percent of the office rent for the first year he settled at the E-hub was covered by Qianhai. In addition, he received 50,000 yuan（US$7,195） in an entrepreneurship subsidy.

“With the support from Qianhai, I was able to save 90,000 yuan in expenditure in the first year at the E-hub,” he said.

Hung founded YX Social Eco, a community platform on which entrepreneurial resources are shared, at the E-hub last year. He said his new company aims to provide support to the entrepreneurs in the GBA, serving as a platform for them to share information.

“Users can share information and establish different social circles at the platform, which helps the entrepreneurs expand their social network. Currently, YX Social Eco has 200,000 entrepreneur users and 300,000 college student users with the intention to start their businesses after graduation,” he said.

“The Greater Bay Area is an ideal place for entrepreneurs, and Shenzhen is the place where my dream started. I hope more people can realize their dreams here.”
