Application opens for QH-headquartered enterprises subsidy

Qianhai-headquartered enterprises can now apply with the Qianhai authority for a subsidy of up to 25 million yuan (US$3.58 million) before Aug. 5.

The Qianhai authority on July 6 released guidelines on the procedures of applying for the subsidy.

According to the guidelines, enterprises that are registered and have been paying taxes in Qianhai will be eligible for the subsidy on the condition that they have no irregular operations as identified by the city’s market supervision authority and have not had any credit-default records over the past three years.

Eligible enterprises must also be financial, modern logistics, or other professional companies or organizations, with headquarters in Qianhai. Qianhai-headquartered unicorn enterprises and Hong Kong-funded companies, multinationals with their regional headquarters and Chinese enterprises’ international headquarters in Qianhai are also eligible for the subsidy.

All the application materials should be submitted to a designated third-party law firm for verification. The Qianhai authority will review the verification results and make public the final results for five days for public scrutiny, after which the subsidy will be transferred to the bank account of the applying enterprises.
