A graphene detection project stood out among eight entrepreneurial projects covering areas such as smart homes, social platforms, enterprise services and blockchain technology at an online roadshow June 3.

Developed by Shenzhen Graphene Institute, the graphene detection project can detect multiple viruses such as the novel coronavirus in real time simultaneously, according to Pan Deng, general manager of the company.

As the COVID-19 pandamic, caused by the novel coronavirus, has been sweeping across the world over the past few months, the grapheme project garnered more attention from the investors than the other seven projects at the roadshow.

Investors representing Innovation Angel Funds, Zhonglai Investment Group and other well-known investment institutions were invited to the roadshow to review the projects and exchange ideas with the entrepreneurs.

The roadshow was the second special event for projects that have been signed up for Qianhai’s Fifth Qianhai-Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao-Taiwan Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. The first session was held May 29.

The Qianhai competition is a sub-event of the 12th Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition of Shenzhen, and projects shortlisted for Qianhai’s preliminary contest will be able to compete at the Shenzhen competition.

The application deadline of the Qianhai competition has been extended from June 15 to late July, according to the event organizer.
