Technologies make Qianhai court smarter

The Qianhai Cooperation Zone People’s Court will become smarter with the adoption of a series of advanced technologies such as 5G network, blockchain and big data.

The Qianhai Justice Center, in which the Qianhai court is located, will be fully covered by 5G network when 5G base stations and the indoor digital DAS (distributed antenna system) are set up. The 5G network will enable the court to introduce Internet-based trials, online evidence submission and electronic legal document delivery, as well as the application of the voice-to-text technology.

The court will be able to introduce paperless case handlings with blockchain and big data technologies, hence enhancing efficiency. A blockchain-based cloud trial system will be used in the hearing of financial cases to prevent potential alterations to evidence.

A one-stop service both online and offline will be available to litigants. Case filing, case trialing and dispute mediation can be completed offline on the self-service devices or, on the official website and mini WeChat program of the court.

The Qianhai court will make judicial process more transparent by improving the information release mechanism and introducing the live broadcast of case trialing.

Qianhai court will also construct a library of legal articles on its legal public service platform, improve its legal consulting services, and enhance connections and communications with legal institutions such as the “Belt and Road” Legal Services Federation and "Belt and Road" International Commercial Mediation Center.
