Qianhai renames trunk road

Qianwan Road 1, one of the main east-west roads in Qianhai, has been renamed Qianhai Boulevard in an overhaul of road names in the free trade area.

Some unnamed 92 roads in Qianhai, including 49 in the Mawan area and 24 in the Guiwan area, have been named in accordance with their locations and the functions of the locality, according to the Qianhai authority.

There are a total of 137 roads in Qianhai and only a fraction of the roads, mostly trunk roads such as Linhai and Tinghai boulevards, as well as bridges and public parks, were given names in a 2013 name planning of roads and venues in the free trade area.

The Qianhai authority is soliciting public opinions on the naming of the roads on its official website,https://qh.sz.gov.cn/, through June 25.
