- Wastepaper recycling and smart diaper projects shine at roadshow

An IoT (Internet of things) technology-based wastepaper recycling project and a smart diaper project stood out among 13 startup projects that were presented at a roadshow at the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub on Friday afternoon.
The 13 projects involving emerging technologies such as IoT, AI (artificial intelligence) and big data were among the startup teams that have signed up for Qianhai’s Fifth Qianhai-Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao-Taiwan Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, which is soliciting applications until June 15. The two projects that stood out in Friday’s roadshow will have a chance to meet with potential investors.
Investors representing Orient Fortune Capital, Tamarace and other well-known investment institutions were also present at the roadshow to review the projects from several perspectives including product positioning and ideal business models, and also shared their entrepreneurship stories.
One of the contestants said he has accumulated invaluable experience at the roadshow as the investors have given them constructive suggestions on the industrial layout and market direction of the roadshow projects.
The roadshow was sponsored by Qianhai Cooperation Zone Authority and Qianhai Inno-tech Investment. It was a sideline event of the innovation and entrepreneurship competition. The Qianhai authority has set aside 7 million yuan (US$979,020) as competition prizes.
