Traffic between Qianwan and Mawan areas will be easier when construction of the Menghai Qianwan River Bridge is slated to complete at the end of this year.

The bridge, built by Qianhai Investment Holding Co. Ltd., is also known as No. 3 Bridge as it is the third bridge across the Qianwan River.

The 161.2-meter-long, 46.5-meter-wide bridge has eight lanes in two ways with a 5-meter-wide sidewalk at each side for slow traffic. It has been designed to accommodate passage of boats.

The bridge, resembling two flying wings, integrates with its surrounding scenery, according to Huang Hua, the project manager of the bridge.

The bridge is one the 11 landscape bridges that have been planned in Qianhai, which is divided into three main areas -- Mawan, Qianwan and Guiwan -- by the Qianwan and Guiwan rivers. Qianhai borders Bao’an District in the north across the Shuangjie River.

Currently, the No. 7 and No. 6 bridges connecting Guiwan and Qianwan, the No. 2 Bridge connecting Qianwan and Mawan, and the No. 11 Bridge that links Qianhai and Bao’an, have been opened to traffic.
