A number of infrastructure projects including public parks will be completed this year, further improving Qianhai’s environment as an emerging new urban center.

The second phase of the Bauhinia Garden, scheduled to open to the public in August, is now under final decoration in Qianwan area. Covering 18,000 square meters, it is located to the east of the first phase of the Bauhinia Garden and Liyumen Street, and north of the Qianhai International Conference Center.

The Guiwan Park, also under decoration, will provide another option for leisure in Qianhai.

Covering an area of 450,000 square meters, the Guiwan Park will be home to about 8,000 trees of more than 100 species in its tropical tree forest, the seasonal flower forest and a wetland garden, with more than 72 percent of the park being green areas.

The water saving and waterproofing technology in sponge city construction has also been adopted in the design and building of the park, which is built along a 1.9-kilomter coastline of the Guiwan and Qianwan areas.

Another innovation project on a 220,000-square-meter coastal area in Qianhai will add more service facilities and public transport in the area to provide better access to the Qianhai Bay, including the Qianhai Stone Park, upon completion.
