Export tax rebate applications will now be processed in one working day, thanks to efforts by the Qianhai Tax Service to assist enterprises to resume work and production promptly during the COVID-19 prevention period.
“After submitting the required materials online and receiving a review from the tax authority via video call, our application was approved in just one day, saving us a lot of time,” said Xu Feng, financial director of Shenzhen Deqi Intelligent System Co. Ltd. “Previously, it took up to 10 working days for the tax authority to process an application.”
The Qianhai tax service has opened a green service channel and increased manpower to process tax rebate applications, said Li Hongqun, director of the service’s first tax source management division. Taxpayers are encouraged to submit applications online. In case paper materials are needed, taxpayers can submit them in person or by post after their applications have been processed, Li said.
Taxpayers who have questions on the application procedures can make inquiry on the WeChat public account (WeChat ID: gh_1391142f1d85) of the tax authority.
In addition, the tax service has also rolled out a series of favorable polices such as VAT (value added tax) exemption for enterprises engaging in the anti-COVID-19 efforts and deferred tax payments.
The Qianhai-based Union Logistics (China) Co. Ltd. has been exempted from more than 600,000 yuan (US$86,415) in VAT for the 3,000 negative pressure ambulances it had delivered to medical institutions around the country amid the virus prevention efforts.
Enterprises affected by the coronavirus epidemic can defer their tax payments.
The latest tax policies are delivered to enterprises through online channels such as mobile apps and the service’s public WeChat account.
