The DHH KAN & LL (Qianhai) Law Firm opened for business in Qianhai on March 27, marking the establishment of Shenzhen’s first Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao joint law firm in Qianhai.
Approved by the Ministry of Justice, DHH KAN & LL is jointly set up by the Beijing DHH (Shenzhen) Law Firm, Fred Kan & Co. of Hong Kong and Macao’s L&L Law Firm.
Currently, the Qianhai firm has four lawyers from the mainland, five from Hong Kong and five from Macao.
The firm will engage in the legal affairs resulted from the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Belt and Road Initiative. It has been set up to offer professional help to resolve legal disputes arising from the integration of personnel, capital and information in the context of the three different tax systems, law jurisdictions and currencies in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
The joint venture is capable of serving clients from any of the three law jurisdictions, providing "one-stop" cross-border legal services.
At the same time, the law firm will serve as the managing headquarters of Elite Global Legal Alliance (EGLA), the largest cross-regional global law firm alliance in China with over 9,000 lawyers in 83 member law firms in 19 countries and regions.
The joint law firm is also expected to help more Nanshan-based enterprises go global to tap into the overseas markets with its cross-border legal services, as well as contribute to the construction of a rule-of-law business environment in Nanshan District.
