A new service that introduces Qianhai’s latest tax policies in short videos on the WeChat public account of Qianhai Tax Service received a warm response from taxpayers in the free trade area.

“The short videos make it easier for me to understand the new tax policies,” said a taxpayer in a comment on the new service in the tax authority’s WeChat account. “I hope the service will continue and I will definitely follow it.”
According to Huang Haidong, a deputy section chief with Qianhai Tax Service, the short videos have been adopted to respond to the needs of the taxpayers in Qianhai. “It is in the popular form of WeMedia, which will deliver our messages.”
Huang said they will continue to adopt the short video form not only to introduce the tax policies in Qianhai, but also to familiarize tax laws among the younger generation, as well as other prospects.
The short video service is one of a series of innovative measures taken by the Qianhai Tax Service to help local enterprises get back to work.
Online tax service has been offered to enable taxpayers to have their tax-related matters processed without going to the tax service office, and the tax papers will be delivered to the taxpayers by post. The moves aim to reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection by reducing the need to visit the tax office.
The tax authority has held 20 trainings on the updated tax policies for the local enterprises, simplified the tax declaration procedures as well as shortened the processing periods of applications for export tax rebate and commercial invoices.
The authority has also rolled out a policy that allows enterprises affected by the COVID-19 outbreak, especially small- and micro-sized companies, to defer tax payments, and a policy that exempts enterprises engaging in the prevention and control efforts of the coronavirus from the VAT (value added tax).
