Commencement ceremony of fin-tech park held online

An online ceremony marking the commencement of the construction of the Silk Road (Xi’an) Qianhai Park in Xi’an, capital of Shaanxi Province, was held simultaneously at Xi’an High-tech Industries Development Zone and Qianhai & Shekou Free Trade Area on Sunday.


Located at the central innovation area of the Xi’an High-tech Industries Development Zone in Xi’an, the park covers an area of 106 acres, with an investment of about 2.5 billion yuan (US$355.25 million).


Combined with the high-tech advantages of Xi’an and the financial innovation advantages of Qianhai, the park will be a source platform of financial innovation in West China.


After completion, the park is expected to help Xi’an further integrate its financial resources, improve its financial supportive services and build a comprehensive, professional intermediary service system.


The park also aims to become a service platform for financial regulations that complies with international standards and improves comprehensive financial service standards in the high-tech zone.


The park is jointly constructed by Xi’an Financial Holdings Co. Ltd. and Qianhai Financial Holdings. The first phase of the park is expected to complete in June next year.


Wang Jinxia, vice director of the Authority of China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qianhai and Shekou Area, gave a speech at the ceremony.


Tian Fu, director of the Authority of China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qianhai and Shekou Area, and Zhong Hongjiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Xi’an Municipal Party Committee and secretary of the Party Working Committee of Xi’an High-tech Industries Development Zone, attended the event at the venues in Qianhai and Xi’an, respectively.
