Li & Fung Supply Chain Management (China) Co. Ltd., a supply chain company in Qianhai, has established a management committee and formulated strict anti-virus measures in response to the requirements announced at the fifth meeting on the prevention and control of the novel coronavirus Feb. 16.

Li & Fung, located in Qianhaiwan Free Trade Port Area, mainly provides warehousing and distribution services for imported and exported goods such as infant milk powder and clothing for domestic and foreign markets.

Wang Wendong, general manager and head of the company’s virus management committee, said that employees of the company must undergo body temperature checks three times a day (morning, afternoon and evening) and wear a face mask. Employees who returned to Shenzhen from other provinces are required to undergo a 14-day quarantine period and have daily health checks.

In addition, Li & Fung also set up outdoor dining areas to prevent the gathering of staff in confined spaces. The office space will also be disinfected twice a day.

While resuming the production accordingly, the company has increased its production capacity to ensure goods supply during the virus prevention period. Currently, the company has resumed 70 percent of its production capacity and has prioritized the production of urgently needed necessities.

Lu Meiying, manager of Li & Fung's customer service department, said that since its resumption of work on Feb. 10, they have had to process more than 10,000 orders and over 45 truckloads of goods for the online and offline sales on the mainland, in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan each day, effectively alleviating the urgent demand of stores and consumers.
