Foreign trade has been growing steadily in the Qianhai & Shekou free trade area, with a growth of 29.7 percent in the first 11 months of the year. The total import and export volume of Qianhaiwan Free Trade Port Area also increased by 54.7 percent year-on-year.

This year, Shenzhen Customs and the Authority of China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qianhai & Shekou Area have made great efforts to improve the business environment in the area and enhance the area’s anti-risk capabilities by coping with changes in the international trade environment.

The Qianhai Cooperation Zone Authority rolled out a series of policies this January to provide financial support to enterprises that carry out cross-border e-commerce, parallel import of automobiles, export credit insurance and service trade in Qianhai. The first batch of eligible enterprises received a total of 8.91 million yuan (US$1.27 million), which reduced the operation cost for the enterprises.

Shekou Customs has launched a number of innovative measures to promote the speed and efficiency of customs clearance, such as the cross-border e-commerce general export model (9610 model), two-step declaration and cross-port allocation of barges.

Since the launch of the 9610 model June 14, the total number of import and export parcels exceeded 100 million pieces, with a value of more than US$ 1 billion. The number of trucks entering the free trade port area reached 29,000.

Shekou customs also introduced a series of trade facilitation measures to meet the diversified logistics operation models of enterprises, such as “global center warehouse” and “MCC (Multi-Country Consolidation) Qianhai.”

The “international shipping transshipment and consolidation” service and “departure air transportation service center” service centered around the “MCC Qianhai” have completed consolidation for 8,620 TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent unit) and air BUP (build-up) for 12,667.59 tons of goods. The two services contributed more than 12.2 billion yuan in value to the foreign trade growth of the area.
