A delegation of officials led by Tian Fu, member of the Standing Committee of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the CPC and director of the Authority of the China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone Qianhai and Shekou Area, conducted a pre-festival work site safety inspection of several construction projects in Qianhai on the afternoon of Jan. 21.

The delegation visited Guiwan Park, which is undergoing a landscaping project, and the Qianhai International Conference Center.

During the inspections, Tian Fu was briefed on the measures to be taken to ensure work site safety for the upcoming weeklong Spring Festival holiday, which will start Friday, and heard safety inspection reports on Qianhai construction projects by third-party companies.

Tian Fu said that safety is a top priority for all construction projects. He urged all project contractors to plan how to handle scenarios such as emergency response during the holiday period. He also required proper holiday arrangements to be made for those staying on-duty at the construction sites during the Spring Festival.

Tian Fu also stressed the importance of continued safety management after the holiday. Onsite inspections should be carried out, and safety training should be held to enhance workers’ safety awareness before construction work restarts after the Spring Festival holiday, Tian Fu said to the contractors during the inspection.

He said that the Qianhai International Conference Center is of great significance to Qianhai and pledged all high-quality resources would be made available for the project as one of the main venues in Qianhai to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone and the 10th anniversary of the Qianhai Cooperation Zone.

Other officials in the delegation included Xiao Hui, vice head of Nanshan District, Xie Huihui, deputy director of the Qianhai Cooperation Zone Authority, and others.
