Qianhai cuts 26m yuan in office rent for firms

Office rent totaling about 26 million yuan (US$3.72 million) for over 300 enterprises in Qianhai will be waived, thanks to an effort made by the Qianhai Cooperation Zone Authority to alleviate the economic impact of the novel coronavirus pneumonia (NCP) outbreak.

Non State-owned enterprises at the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub will be exempted from office rent and property management fees，including air-conditioning fee，for February and March.

For non-State-owned enterprises at the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Innovation Center, Qianhai Free Trade Tower and Qianhai Jiangongyuan complex, February and March office rent fees will also be waived.

Office rent measures will be carried out with reference to the above standards for enterprises at Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Fund Town.

Rent reduction for each enterprise is capped at 1.5 million yuan.

In addition, the Unite Asset Management Service Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of Qianhai Cooperation Zone Authority, will provide a daily disinfection service free of charge to enterprises in their property projects from February to March.

Other property owners in Qianhai also responded to the initiative and launched office rent reduction measures, demonstrating their commitment to social responsibility as developers and operators of Qianhai’s industrial spaces amid the outbreak.

Qianhai Sinlikon Center reduced 10 days’ rent (Feb. 1 to Feb. 10) and 15 days’ rent (Feb. 1 to Feb. 15) for enterprises and commercial tenants that settled in the building, respectively; the total amount of rent reductions reached 1.76 million yuan.

Shimao Qianhai Center reduced 16 days’ rent (Jan.25 to Feb. 9) worth 0.3 million yuan for its commercial tenants.
