Since the start of the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak, a series of measures have been taken by the Qianhai Cooperation Zone Authority to provide various services to Hong Kong enterprises and start-up teams in the area.

Qianhai has opened a 24-hour hotline for over 5,000 Hong Kong enterprises in the area and collect feedback on the difficulties and needs from the enterprises through SMS. Currently, more than 50 calls from those in need have been received.

Through the efforts jointly made by China Merchants Bonded Logistics, Shenzhen Customs and the Red Cross Society of China Shenzhen Branch, a green channel for epidemic prevention supplies has been opened to ensure the delivery of supplies to Hong Kong.

Qianhai Cooperation Zone Authority has also opened a green channel for handling applications from financial institutions that provide services to anti-epidemic units and enterprises. The financial institutions are encouraged to innovate related financial products and services and participate in the epidemic fight with financial instruments such as bonds and fundraising.

In addition, office rent fees in February and March have been waived for non-State-owned enterprises that have settled at the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub, Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Innovation Center, or Qianhai Free Trade Tower.

A total of about 26 million yuan (US$3.72 million) for over 300 enterprises in Qianhai will be waived. The rent reduction for each enterprise is capped at 1.5 million yuan.

Huang Yifei, deputy general manager of China Merchants Bonded Logistics, the operator of Qianhaiwan Free Trade Port Area, said that over 60 world-famous enterprises have settled in the area, including some Hong Kong enterprises such as MBE International Logistics Ltd. and DKSH Hong Kong Ltd.
