Qianhai HSBC becomes the first to offer cross-border RMB settlement service

The branch of HSBC in Qianhai Shekou Pilot Free Trade Zone recently announced that it offered the first cross-border RMB settlement service in the zone, according to Shekou News.

The bank said it helped a customer transfer money from the personal account to the outbound RMB account. The settlement then becomes the first of its kind in the zone.

According to related regulations, people who work or reside in the zone can go to the local banks for cross-border RMB settlement.
